Benedetto Alessandro (Family Winemaker)

Winemaker Vision

Alessandro di Camporeale is dedicated to crafting elegant, expressive wines that celebrate Sicily's indigenous grape varieties and distinctive terroir. Through organic viticulture, careful vineyard management, and a harmonious balance between tradition and innovation, the family produces wines that reflect the authenticity, biodiversity, and character of their land.

Terroir

Located in the hills surrounding Camporeale, southwest of Palermo, the estate benefits from elevated vineyards, limestone-rich and clay soils, and a Mediterranean climate influenced by cooling winds. Warm, sunny days and significant temperature variations encourage slow, balanced ripening, allowing varieties such as Grillo, Catarratto, Nero d'Avola, and Syrah to develop aromatic complexity, freshness, and structure.

About the Winery

Rooted in four generations of Sicilian winemaking heritage, Alessandro di Camporeale is a family-owned estate nestled in the hills of the Belìce Valley, within the Monreale DOC appellation. Established as a winery in the 1990s, the estate carries forward a family tradition dating to the early 20th century. Today, cousins Anna, Benedetto, and Benedetto Alessandro lead the winery, cultivating approximately 40 hectares of organic vineyards. Combining traditional knowledge with modern, sustainable techniques, the family produces refined wines that celebrate the richness and diversity of western Sicily while preserving its natural and cultural heritage.
