In 1996 Salentein bought a unique estate called ‘San Pablo.’ The estate is located at the highest elevation in Mendoza, ranging from 1,400 to 1,700 metres and has the coldest climate in the province. This micro-climate is perfect for grape growing due to the combination of altitude, the snowmelt creek, annual rainfall of 450 mm and superb soil structure. These special conditions in San Pablo allow the grapes to develop concentrated flavours with great natural acidity.
This powerhouse is rich black fruit driven by tobacco and rich exotic spice on the nose. The same follows through on the palate with added massive tannins and gripping finish. Don’t be afraid of this wine, but it just may bite you.
