As the 2014 harvest progressed the combination of warm days and cool nights ensured full physiological ripeness of the fruit both in terms of fruit flavour development and tannin maturity together with acidity retention—so crucial for fine wine balance. After fermentation, the wine was barrel aged for 19 months.
The aroma is filled with a generous expression of cassis, blackcurrents and plums. Sitting behind this fruit lies more oak driven aromas such as expresso beans, crushed vanilla and spice box. On the palate, complex and intense this wine displays dark fruit notes of ripe black cherries, plums and blackberries complemented by scents of violets, black licorice and a touch of cigar box. This rich yet elegantly styled Cabernet Sauvignon balances fleshy fruit, ripe tannins and a rich full mouthfeel with a prominent mid-palate lift and a lengthy refined finish.
