A NEW VISION OF QUALITY
Bodegas Salentein believes in a new vision of quality—using classic varietals, the preservation of ancient vines, incorporating artisanal European techniques and the use of advanced technology ensures that the wines are held in the highest regard. It is Bodegas Salentein’s mission to sell their wine internationally and to ensure that the wines of Argentina can be enjoyed around the world.
The winery is located in Mendoza, an Argentinian province that is synonymous with wine. The soil in this region is sandy loam and the weather is dry with very hot days and very cool nights. With over 900 wineries and 145,000 hectares of vineyards, this region is the most important wine-making area of the country.
Chief winemaker for the winery is José Galante. He is considered to be one of the most influential winemakers in Argentina today and is known as the father of Argentine Malbec.
At the winery the cellars are located nine meters underground, have a constant temperature of 12°C with 80% humidity and can hold 5,000 barrels. As seen from the top level, the floor of the central chamber shows an important design of a wind rose, with each end oriented towards the cardinal points. In this way, the winery represents the connection with the rest of the world.
