All About Nekeas

The roots of Nekeas run back many centuries. Multiple families of the region have been associated with vines and wine for generations. In early 1990s the descendants of the original families of vine growers pooled their land together and built Bodega Nekeas in the middle of the vineyards. In the 2000s, with the Nekeas wine project underway, the families contributed their remaining properties to a new project by planting 200 hectares of olive trees, bringing back the centuries-old presence of olive groves.

Thanks to its outstanding location, climate and geological characteristics, the Valley of Nekeas is one of Spain’s finest areas for the production of quality wine and olive oil.

Bodega Nikeas is located in the wine region of Navarra. The region is in northern Spain, just south of Pamplona and close to the southwest border of France. It is influenced by both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.

Concha Vecino, the Oenologist for Bodega Nekeas points out, “I enjoy my work, controlling each stage of the process, from growing the vines and olives right through to final consumption, pampering each stage of production alongside an outstanding team. I feel like a mediator who translates the language of the vines into the language of wine, and that’s a very pleasing feeling.”
