All About Barbanera

FROM 1938 TO TODAY: A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING REALITY

In 1938, Altero and Maria Franceschini, thinking about their future and that of their children, decided to start a small business linked to the world of wine. Now, four generations on, the family looks to the future, aware of the past, and the traditions handed down.

Located at the foot of Mount Cetona, in Tuscany, the vineyards are as beautiful as they are generous and famous throughout the world for producing great grapes. The winery has an exquisitely modern design and welcomes guests from around the world to share in their ines.

In 2008, the company expanded its original Tuscan vineyards to create the Vecciano Estate on the slopes of Monte Cetona. These vineyards cover approximately 9 hectares (22 acres) of land and are situated within the confines of the Chianti DOCG wine region. The southwest-facing slopes at the estate are composed mainly of calcareous clay and are planted to a combination of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Today Barbanera is an ethically and technologically advanced winery. Each wine tells over eighty years of history, work and passion from its history and its hopes for the future.
