The first mention of the Gavi region comes from records in the town hall of Genoa dated 791 AD. In those documents, reference is made to a placed called "Meirana", the same ancestral name for Azienda Broglia's La Meirana vineyard.  Managed by brothers Gian Piero and Paolo Broglia, this 57 hectare estate winery has been repeatedly noted among the very best Gavi has to offer. From Gambero Rosso, Italy's premiere wine guide to the cover of Wine Spectator, Broglia's Gavis are quickly becoming Iconic.
