Andrea Gillet

Andrea is the head winemaker of Bisquertt Vineyards. She studied Enology at the renowned Universidad Católica de Chile. Andrea has a vast knowledge of winemaking having harvests experiences in the U.S.A, New Zeland, France and Germany, then in Chile, prior to Bisquertt, she was the winemaker at Viña Errázuriz and Santa Rita. Our vision and goals when it comes to winemaking are always to try to keep Colchagua's heart through traditional grape varieties, having the best quality and the best-known grapes from Chile. All of this vision must be achieved by producing in a sustainable way minimizing the enviormental and social impacts of our operations.

Colchagua Valley is one of the most renowned and most visited valleys in the new world. The valley offers a wide diversity of climates and soils that are home to some of the most well-known wineries and wines, in particular, our esteemed Carmenere. Our vineyard in Marchihue is among the closest vineyards to the sea in the Colchagua Valley, with a Mediterranean climate influenced by the ocean and the constant coastal breezes. Our 95 hectares of vineyards are spread out on mixed soils with granitic, alluvial, and volcanic components, that together represent a singular terroir.

Viña Bisquertt is a family winery founded more than 40 years ago by Osvaldo Bisquertt and his wife, Soledad Urrutia, with the philosophy to produce terroir-driven wines. The Bisquertt family were pioneers in the Colchagua Valley planting their first vines in the mid-1960s on the Fundo Rinconada in Perrillo and acquiring their first cellar in Lihueimo 10 years later. Currently, Bisquertt has a presence in more than 35 countries under a strong and well-positioned brand portfolio, producing wine with awareness and under a sustainable certification.
